ABOUT CHELSIE

Chelsie Young embodies the essence of a true fighter, wearing her heart on her sleeve with unwavering boldness. Driven by a profound passion for performance, she has carved out her own unique path and risen as a significant voice in Indigenous music.

Starting with her viral kitchen table serenade in 2017, Chelsie’s journey has been remarkable. She has headlined festivals across Quebec and beyond, performing on stages of all sizes throughout Canada.

 

Notable moments include opening for renowned artists like Jim Cuddy at the 2022 Canmore Folk Festival, as well as Johnny Reid and Charlie Major in 2025. With each performance, Chelsie continues to make her presence felt in the Canadian music scene.

In 2025 she was nominated for "Interactive Artist of the Year" at the 14th Country Music Alberta Awards.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Chelsie is a passionate advocate for Indigenous families navigating the child welfare system in Alberta and is currently working towards a degree in social work.

She's been featured regularly on the Indigenous Music Countdown (www.indigenousmusiccountdown.com) with five singles charting in the top 10 and one #1 single.
